High School Self Contained Math and Push-In Science

Reports to: Special Education Director/High School Principal

Pay: $33,100.00 - $42,000.00 per year

Work Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm

Work Year: 10 months for regular school year

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in special education or appropriate degree
K-12 Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist License or ability to receive Supplemental Intervention Specialist licensure

Job Summary:
To support the learning of students with disabilities in the self-contained setting through planning, instruction, and assessment. To implement various parts of the IEP including but not limited to accommodations, goals, modifications, and specially designed instruction.

Responsibilities:

Co-teach with either another intervention specialist or a general education teacher in both high school self-contained and inclusion settings.
Instruct students on IEPs in small group or one-on-one settings using the classroom curriculum
Co-plan lessons with other adults in the room to ensure instructional goals are being met
Administer assessments as appropriate
Modify curriculum as appropriate
Provide accommodations for students with IEPs including in class work, classroom and state assessments
Provide direct instruction on IEP goals
Collect data on progress towards IEP goals
Enter IEP progress data into state reporting system quarterly
Submit IEP goal suggestions and background information to Special Education Director
Collect data for grades and enter grades into SIS.
Attend grade band meetings and provide input, when appropriate
Collect and analyze data to determine the effectiveness of instructional practices
Contact parents regarding the performance of students in the classroom
Attend professional development sessions as determined by the school calendar.

Experience: Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification: Special Education Certification or ability to obtain Supplemental Gifted Intervention Specialist licensure (Required)
