DIESEL TECHNICIAN/MECHANIC
Job Summary
The Diesel Technician/Mechanic will have the opportunity to use exceptional skills and knowledge to support overall business goals. Will work very closely with the management team to provide insight on overall shop operations.
Diesel Technician/Mechanic Responsibilities
Utilize advanced diagnostic computer equipment/software in the analysis, diagnosis, repair of gasoline and diesel engines and their related subsystems/components.
Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
Update supervisor and computer systems on work performed.
Follow procedures related to obtaining parts for jobs assigned.
Assure warranty procedures are followed.
Participate and complete Manufacturing training to obtain certifications.
Diesel Technician/Mechanic Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Diesel Technician/Mechanic must have the ability to:
Work on trucks, climbing into and out of, crawling under to make repairs.
Work on emissions systems.
Demonstrate proficient wiring knowledge.
Work safely and promote safety in the workplace.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and electronic repair and troubleshooting manuals.
Use PC to update work order status and explain maintenance and repairs.
Explain verbally and written form the status of work orders.
Keep management aware of any concerns in the shop.
Provide dependable/consistent results.
Diesel Technician/Mechanic Requirements:
Strong mechanical and electrical experience.
Strong diagnostic ability and familiarity with OEM software.
5+ years of experience working on gas/diesel equipment.
Refrigeration unit experience a plus.
CDL A or B, or willingness to obtain.
Diesel ASE Certifications, preferred. Our goal would be to have this individual fully certified .
For Pennsylvania Locations - PA State Inspection License
Requirements:
-Pennsylvania class 7 inspection license and emission inspection license
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role. xibtplm
- Knowledge of diesel engines and their components.
- CDL A or B
SALARY TO BE NEGOTIATED DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
